What does it mean when Philanthropy Speaks? My new radio show brings non-profits together to educate local communities on pressing and relevant issues while fo
stering healthy debate. On April 18th, 2012, “Philanthropy Speaks” debuted with a conversation about the role of the library in the 21st century, specifically in light of new technologies. Together, Mary Rindfleisch, Librarian at the Ridgefield Library; Karen Cushnie, President of the Board of the Sherman Library; Scott Jarzombek, Director at the Pawling Free Library, and I discussed topics ranging from the changing needs of readers in their respective communities to the reasons that colleges are still investing in libraries today. In the coming months, my show will continue to raise awareness about philanthropists and non-profits that are making a difference in our area, celebrating the work they do to enhance the quality of our lives.
